Abstract

Smart pervasive sensor networks are becoming an essential part of modern healthcare systems, providing real-time monitoring and data collection. The increasing adoption of 5G mobile networks enables high-throughput, low-latency communication, introducing significant advancements in health monitoring. This paper highlights key software engineering and data-processing challenges in managing large-scale sensor networks, particularly in healthcare applications. It explores the integration of multi-level health knowledge with sensor data streams, addresses the oracle problem in sensor networks, and proposes metamorphic testing as a potential solution. The study discusses filtering, cross-calibration, and IoT-based data validation techniques to improve the reliability and efficiency of sensor-based healthcare systems.
